Home To Thanksgiving is based on an original subject by gentle Connecticut artist, George Henry Durrie. Late in his career he stated working for Currier and Ives. Currier and Ives were artist in their own rights but were one of the first mass publishers of Lithographs in the country if not the entire world, There influence was so strong that often the actual artist's name that did the original from which the lithographs was lost and totally forgotten. Instead the work was attributed to Currier and Ives.

It the case of George Henry Durrie it certainly didn't help considering how his mame is nearly the same as Currier.
